What To Use It For

• Sealing boxes containing glassware, crockery, and ceramics
• Picture boxes, mirror boxes, and framed artwork
• Electronics – TVs, monitors, and appliances with glass components
• Any box where the contents would be visibly damaged by rough handling or being placed upside down

Moving

On moving day, boxes pass through several pairs of hands – packed by you, loaded by the crew, carried up or down stairs, and unloaded at the new home. Fragile tape keeps the warning visible at every stage, reducing the chance a heavy box gets stacked on top or a breakable box gets tossed onto the truck like the rest. Apply it as the last seal, across the top and at least one side, after the box is already sealed with strong clear or brown tape underneath.

Tip: Place fragile tape on at least two sides of the box, handlers often see only one face when lifting or stacking.

Storage

In a self-storage unit, boxes get shuffled, restacked, and dug through months after they were packed, often by someone other than the person who originally sealed them. A fragile-taped box tells whoever moves it later, including your own storage facility staff, that it shouldn’t be placed at the bottom of a stack or handled roughly during a re-shuffle.

Tip: Combine fragile tape with a written note of the actual contents – the tape warns, the label tells them what’s inside.

Shipping & Courier

For goods handed over to a courier, freight forwarder, or shipping line, fragile tape is the standard signal used industry-wide to flag careful handling. It’s often the only handling instruction a third-party handler will actually see or respect, since they are not the ones who packed the box. It’s especially important for excess baggage, air freight, and any shipment that changes hands multiple times before reaching its destination.

Tip: For international shipments, use fragile tape alongside clear tape sealing the address label, so the label stays legible and the warning stays visible.
